The 2.0 lid uses an adapter ring that secures to the container before the lid spins on, and it is sized for the 8, 15, 25, 35, and 40 lb containers. Checking the model number on the container is the only reliable way to choose.
When a replacement lid is the right fix—and when it isn't
A replacement lid makes sense when the lid itself is cracked, warped, or lost, or when the gasket no longer seals and the lid is the source of the problem. It is not the right fix if the container body is cracked, if the threads or adapter ring area are damaged, or if you cannot find a model number that matches a listed lid. In those cases, a new lid will not restore an airtight seal, and a replacement container is the safer choice.
Diagnose your lid problem
- Symptom: lid spins but doesn't seal: Check that the adapter ring (on 2.0 lids) is seated flat and that the lid threads are clean. If the ring is missing or cracked, order the 2.0 replacement lid for 8–40 lb containers. A missing adapter ring is a common cause of a loose 2.0 lid.
