Our dog empties his bowl in about a day, and I was replacing the old filter every week before finding these. The charcoal really does cut the musty smell that used to build up, and with two in the pack, I don't have to reorder as often. Water stays noticeably clearer between cleanings.
The charcoal actually keeps the water from getting that slimy film for a few extra days, which I appreciate. It's a bit pricey for what you get, but two filters in the box is handy. Works well enough that I'll order again.
